The room was clean and spacious, but the shower had low water pressure.

proximity to Herriot museum, large and comfortable room, free off-street parking
Shower area definitely needs refurbishing!!! Shower curtain filthy, headboard stained, water only warm enough for one quick shower, and the carpet looks decades old. Could be better overall!!!

Comfortable stay with a warm welcome
Our stay was delightful, with a cozy double room that featured fluffy towels and well-laid bedding. The friendly host made sure we felt at home and provided excellent breakfast options, including freshly brewed coffee in a cafetière. The nostalgic decor gave the place a unique charm, but parking options could be better organized.

this b & b is in a great spot for james herriot fans, just a short walk to the museum. our room was super cozy, and the host, geoffrey, was really friendly and had awesome tips for local eats. breakfast was really good with a variety of options, and i loved the nice coffee served in cafetière. the whole place has a lovely charming feel, it felt like home. will def come back again!
the only downsides were the water pressure was low in our top-floor room and parking planning was a bit tricky.

Had an amazing time with friends! We loved visiting the local parks and checking out the charming shops nearby. The owner was super helpful and the breakfast was freshly cooked, making our mornings great. The location is perfect, just a quick walk to town. For future guests, remember that parking can be tricky, but there’s some road-side availability.
The only downside was the shower in our room. it fluctuated between scalding hot and freezing cold, which was not the best start to the day.

It was just a fitting option for a city escape in Thirsk, great for the money. The shower had unpredictable pressure, but it did the job after a long day. Don’t rush breakfast. there’s plenty of time if you wake up early.

Friendly vibes and tasty breakfast!
We stayed for a night and Geoff was super chill and helpful. He made sure we were comfy and took time to chat. The special diet menu was a nice touch! The only thing? The decor felt a bit old-school, but it didn’t ruin anything!.

A lovely stay for a couple getaway
The breakfast was a delight better than any fast food grease I've ever tasted and the host Geoffrey was like a breath of fresh air very welcoming and down to earth. Then there were those pillows soft as a dream making it tough to get outta bed in the morning.
Didn't come on the cheap side but what is worthwhile usually ain't free.

Charming and quaint, loved the clean room with lovely little extras! Plus, the location was spot-on, just a hop from everything. Geoff's hospitality is top-tier, truly a delightful stay!
The shower's so tricky that one of us resorted to a sponge bath! And the bathroom had an aroma that could wake the dead!
